Sorry for the Delay
I realize I have not posted either as myself or Rocky since my Step Dad's death and Step Grand Son's birth came back to back.
Aside from a week with the computer down due to damage from a power out ( a shattered disk drive plate of all things )I have had no good excuse or extenuating circumstance. I have had a great deal of a few friends both physically near and cyber universe friends to start writing seriously. I very much appreciate all the encourage the enthusiasm and would appreciate suggestions for what to write my none blog serious works on. Those of you who read the blog articles know the type of things I either enjoy writing about or have a skill in so your suggestions will all be appreciated. I am Tracey will have some colourful metaphors which when translated back to black and white boil down to it's about time.
So I am back. I am healthier than I have been in a long time and a side note which I did forward to Kirst. My friend Rick now often billed as the world's fasted one legged man ( For anyone who thinks he is just raw courage he is also at least as smart as I am ) he will be running representing Canada in Kirsts City of Christchurch New Zealand. To prove I am still an idiot I can't recall when. I hope they have the chance to meet as both are fascinating people and both are excellent role models for others. I really have they chance to meet each other. I told Kirst to tell him she's a friend of Sid's and he will know exactly who she means. If that is not me being guilty of the sin of Pride or Vanity I don't know what is.

The reason I was asking for suggestions is this. A couple of friends have suggested I write something to get published. On thinking about it I came up with the idea of doing so in style normally only used in the Army. It is something called an Aide Memoire. What they are is something normally given out when a course of study in a practical subject is completed. It takes each skill and basically lists what to do in a 1,2,3 etc form. The idea being you won't forget a step. However they are so straightforward they could also be used to teach from. On reflection I recall twice that was done to me. Once on formal manners for military dinners etc and once on combat in extreme cold conditions.
ReplyDeleteI have decided my first one will be that survival manual I have been meaning to write for years. What should follow that is what the request for suggestions is for. Once the first one is done, I would like to see others my age or thereabouts write down what skills they have before the rapid rate of changing events these days makes those skills no longer easy to find or learn
About bloody time you're back!!!!!!!! Now get on with it! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
